While I have enjoyed using google docs to post our newsletter in the recent years, I have been looking for a way to share happenings in the classroom and incorporate more digital elements like videos and weblinks. I also wanted a way for parents to interact going through email or phone. I hope you have taken the time to explore the kids' blog:
I figure, if they can do it... so can we! I will be phasing this blog in to replace the newsletter format. Please feel free to comment (although your comments won't appear until I "approve" them), share with other family, or use it as a springboard to the age old question... "what did you do at school today?"
As I begin the new endeavor, I would love to hear what YOU would like to see on this blog. Please let me know what you are interested in hearing more about.
This looks great Stephanie! - I wish I was brave enough to wade through these unknown waters. I love that kids as young as the ones in your class are being introduced to this technology. Helping parents climb on board with this is a good way to familiarize them with the technology and open lines of communication with their child as to what they are learning at school. Although some kids are forthcoming with school happenings, there are many who answer to "How was school?" with a mere "good" and do not offer a lot noi insite the days activities. I am anxious to see how your parents interact and respond to this. please keep us posted.
